Ceiliúradh Ceathrú Céid

21st Mar 2025

Gabhaimid buíochas mór ó chroí le gach duine a tháinig chuig an Cheiliúradh Ceathrú Céid s’againn a bhí ar siúl againn san Óstán Burrendale ar na mallaibh. Bhí sé go haoibhinn an oiread sin daoine a fheiceáil ag teacht le chéile chun ár scoil ghleoite a cheiliúradh agus tá súil againn gur bhain sibh uilig sult as an oíche.

We would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who came to our 25-year Celebratory Dinner which we held in the Burrendale Hotel recently. It was wonderful to see so many people come together to celebrate our special school and we hope you all enjoyed the night.

We would like to thank Connaire and Fiona, and all the staff at the Burrendale for putting a lovely night on for us.

It was our pleasure to welcome our first ever pupils at the school, and members of their families, to celebrate this significant milestone with us. Starting with just four pupils, Aiden, Anita, Enya and Ruairí, just over a quarter of a century ago, it was lovely getting the chance to reflect upon the journey, and the growth and development of our school over this time. We owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to these pioneering families and to everyone who worked so hard to establish our school, particularly in those early years.

We also took this opportunity to pay tribute to outgoing Chairperson of our Board of Governors, Aileen Goodwin, who worked so tirelessly for the school over the last 13 years or so. Go raibh maith agat a Aileen.

We were treated to superb entertainment on the night with an Irish dancing display from past pupils Méadhbha and Genevieve, go raibh maith agaibh a chailíní. And we’d also like to thank Clíodhna who was unfortunately unable to join the girls on the night. Buíochas mór ó chroí le Gráinne Holland for the beautiful music on the night also. Not only a parent of two of our pupils but Gráinne is also a great friend of the school having done many various arts workshops right throughout the school over the years. Go raibh maith agat a Ghráinne.

Sincere thanks also to Pat from the Mourne Observer, a great friend of the school, who came along to take some wonderful photographs of our celebration, go raibh maith agat a Pat a chara.

Buíochas mór le Múinteoir Máire a chuir seó sleamhnáin le chéile dúinn don oíche le cuid mhaith grianghraf ó thar na blianta.

Agus buíochas mór le Sinéad G as físeán gleoite a chur le chéile dúinn chomh maith. Bhí sé galánta. Buíochas fosta le Caoimhe agus an Ciorcal Amhránaíochta as na hamhráin bhinne a cheol siad don fhíseán.

Ar scáth a chéile a mhaireann ár bpobal scoile.

A school is nothing without the community. Thank you to each and every one of you who contributes to our school. It really is amazing to see how our school has grown over the years, and this could only happen with the incredible community within our school – staff, governors, pupils, parents and families – past and present, and indeed future. Every one of us has our own part to play in continuing to build and improve our wonderful school.

Ceathrú céid bainte amach againn – go maire muid an céad!
